Senior Buyer - Purchasing Supervisor

Our client specializes in Manufacture Automotive Electronics, with Global Presence. The company offers amazing benefits, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Central Indiana, a high-technology and positive work environment. They need a Purchasing Specialist to join their successful and expanding team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead team of 2 Buyers / 3 Purchasing Coordinators.
• Manage purchase of Raw Materials, MRO, and finished components.
• Conduct supplier negotiations on cost, delivery, terms.
• Facilitate supplier / vendor meetings on topics of purchasing, quality, delivery.
• Track supplier performance using tools such as supplier scorecards.
• Focus on cost savings initiatives through value analysis, long-term agreements, and competitive supply chain benchmarking.
• Interact with other departments - production control, manufacturing operations, quality, engineering etc.

Requirements:

• 7 or more years experience as a buyer, category manager, or purchasing manager
• Knowledge / experience in sending out RFQ's and negotiating pricing for high-volume parts.
• Knowledge of structuring long term purchasing agreements and supplier negotiation/ collaboration to achieve cost reduction.
• Familiarity with vendor/supplier relationships and interactions on purchasing terms, cost, delivery, and quality.
• Analytical skills and ability compare costs, terms, pricing, and determine the best value.
• Exceptional communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
