Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is directly responsible for strategic planning, sales management, and prospecting for new clients to help grow the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Perform research and generate leads for potential customers and new opportunities.
2. Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with prospective and new clients.
3. Negotiate and close agreements with customers.
4. Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
5. Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
6. Continuously meet or exceed projected sales targets.
7. Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories, and projecting expected sales.
8. Keeping up with the latest industry developments and trends to target various markets.
9. Maintains detailed records and prepares communications and reports as needed.
10. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors, and the general public.
11. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of sales manager experience in an increasingly expanded role.

1. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the use of the internet.
2. Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
3. Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
4. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
5. High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
6. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
7. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
8. Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused.
9. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with the public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
10. Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
11. Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.

Physical Demands:
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, set up and maintain work files. Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. independently. Up to 50% travel is required. May require evening and weekend hours as business needs demand.
