Purpose:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to accounting, finance, and customer service support for FedPro. This role will maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Manages the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, etc.
2. Supervises the accounting and customer service staff. Is responsible for providing leadership to ensure work is properly allocated and performed in a timely manner.
3. Performs all company-specific month-end and year-end tasks such as closing, budgeting, forecasting, income statement, and balance sheet analysis. Will develop Journal Entries, maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
4. Is an expert with all accounting and customer service-related systems such as the ERP (Macola). Has the ability to understand all reporting needs and will provide ad hoc reports to upper management and sales teams.
5. Directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports. Ensures that expenses are in line with projected revenue and presents findings and recommendations to management.
6. Participate in the company’s auditing efforts. This includes all financial and inventory by collecting required documentation and physical audit counts through the ERP.
7. Provides financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc. when necessary.
8. Maintains detailed records and prepares communications and reports as needed.
9. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors, and the general public.
10. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a general accounting or financial reporting role with increased responsibility.
3. General familiarity with information systems and report writing abilities.
4. A minimum of 3 years of successful management and employee development of a professional team.
Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:
1. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with accounting close.
2. A strong numerical proficiency and excellent use of logic.
3. Knowledge of all the local, state, and federal tax laws and business regulations as they apply to the scope of the position.
4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the use of the internet.
5. Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
7. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
8. High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
9. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Physical Demands:
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office environment. Requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, and set up and maintain work files. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. independently. Up to 25% travel is required. May require evening and weekend hours as business needs demand.
