FPC INTL is Hiring a Pre Cut Operator Near Baton Rouge, LA

Purpose:

The Pre-Cut Operators generally alternate between two assignments when assigned to work the Pre-Cut Station. One assignment is to operate the surface winder and the other assignment is to handle the packaging of the finished product.

When assigned to operate the winder, the primary responsibility is continuous monitoring of product for any visual defect while rolling the product up properly on a core according to instructions and procedure. The employee must notify the Production Manager or QC immediately of changes in the condition or consistency of the product or failure to meet specifications.

The alternate assignment when stationed on the backline is the packaging of the finished product. The primary responsibility is to properly prepare packaging materials, periodic checks of the finished product, and packaging of product including palletizing, required documentation, and delivery to the staging area for warehousing, all in accordance to instruction and procedure. Employee must notify Production Manager or QC immediately of changes in condition or consistency of product or failure to meet specifications.

During production generating a high number of rolls per hour, the packager may need help in moving finished pallets and banding some of the layers of finished product. The Production Supervisor will determine such need and assign the amount of help required.

Pre-cut operators will also frequently be assigned as helpers on other operations.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Operation of the winder.

2. Packaging of finished product.

3. Proper segregation of sub-standard products separate from prime products.

4. Responsible for Recording production output & any deviations to productivity.

5. Maintaining work area cleanliness and organization.

6. Threading and setting up equipment according to specifications and instructions.

7. Completes documentation of work in accordance with instructions and procedures.

8. Share ideas for improvement and increases in efficiency.

9. Performs additional job duties as instructed by the Production Manager.

10. Responsible for Returning Labels, Boxes & Instructions to correct locations.

11. Responsible for Stocking the line with correct Labels, pallets & Instructions.

12. Responsible for ensuring correct labels, cores, pallets, and packaging are used for product being produced.

13. Maintains detailed records and prepares communications and reports as needed.

14. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors, and the general public.

15. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Training and/or Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED Equivalent.

2. The Backline Operator must have reading and math skills necessary to follow written instructions and perform basic math calculations.

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:

1. Must be of strength and stamina to maneuver 30-65 pound packages from table to pallets for hours at a time, keeping pace with output from the production line.

2. Must have the dexterity to work blown film tubing, and operate a cantilever winder, and carton stapler.

3. Must be able to remain focused on inspection and documentation.

4. Must be able to recognize visual changes in product and variations in product weights and gauge.

5. Ability to make adjustments to equipment as instructed to maintain quality.

6. Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.

7. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

8. High degree of initiative and independent judgment.

9. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

10. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.

11. Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused.

12. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.

13. Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.

14. Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.

Physical Demands:

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, set up and maintain work files. Ability to occasionally lift up to 30-65 lbs. independently. May require evening and weekend hours as business needs demand.
