We are seeking a qualified Process Improvement Engineer for our Thomasville, Georgia Further Processing Facility. Great opportunity for soon to be or recent college graduates.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts focused on planning and design of process/line optimization, food quality, and cost savings. Responsible for providing ongoing support and troubleshooting of plant and operations. Focus is in root cause analysis on the overall process for beef case ready plant. Strong hands on skills with machinery and process problem solving. The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in our business, work closely with customers, courageously face new challenges and opportunities and leverage the talents, skills, and resources of team members and peers. Responsible for providing a safe and healthy work environment free of all recognizable hazards. Understand and adhere to policies related to safety and assure others do the same.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Support the plant operations by tracking performance metrics, resolving production and downtime issues, and ensuring the plant is capable of meeting daily, weekly, and yearly business objectives.
2.Keep plant Mass Balance document current with product specs, volume forecast, and current equipment capacity rates.
3.Advise management and customers on the plant’s capability with new products or changes to current product specs.
4.Analyze the daily operational data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization related to facilities and equipment capacity, quality, and cost.
5.Actively participate as a member of the Plant Operations Team.
6.Document improvements to process and equipment. Communicate ideas and improvements to management.
7.Maintain facility drawings of utilities and process line layouts.
8.Ability to manage and influence teams made up of all levels, FPL Food employees, customer team members, and contractors, to deliver goals
9.Responsible for supporting capital projects, defines scope of work, project planning and execution, as well as organizing and coordinating resource schedules and budgets.
10.Performing research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, promoting sustainability, and maximizing safety and wellbeing of our employees.
11.Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, sustainability, ergonomics, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
12.Documents all aspects of projects such as directing outside contractors, project integration into the plant operation, technical information, and training.
13.Coordinates the launch of new/revised manufacturing upgrades including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
14.Be able to take and solution from idea to implementation to verification of results.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
Experience
•Minimum of three years of related experience in manufacturing and process.
•Previous food process experience, particularly with beef, pork or poultry processing equipment is preferred.
Special Skills, Competencies, & Other Qualifications
•Hands-on mindset with floor experience; flexibility to work in small team environments, wearing multiple hats; solutions oriented, with preference for the practical side of business
•Excellent communication skills (video, high graphical presentations, ….)
•Knowledge of SAP (PP/MM) and MES ( SIMATIC-IT) is recommended.
•Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean Six Sigma, Spotfire.
•Familiarity with general industry standards and practices, like OEE
•Appetite for data analytics and visualization of data is a must.
•Computer proficiencies like Excel and Databases.
•Proficient in 2D AUTO Cad
•Experience in 3D CAD line SolidWorks and Navisworks is a plus
•Familiar with PLC programing
Travel Requirements
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time to various vendor sites and customer meetings.
