POSITION OVERVIEW
At Franciscan our Medical Director Informatics works in partnership with our leaders to advance the value and impact of electronic health information systems to the provision of cost effective and high-quality care. Our goal is to achieve a high level of proficiency and satisfaction with the Franciscan EMR and other technology tools used in the delivery of patient care services.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Travel as needed onsite for meetings throughout the week
Being responsible for establishing and managing physician engagement and governance of enterprise clinical content, EMR usability, efficiency and optimization, and clinical workflow improvements through technology enablement
Collaborating with clinical informatics, information management, medical group operations, and clinical operations stakeholders across Franciscan Health to design and improve evidence based clinical content that is made available within the EMR
Enlisting support for strategically relevant clinical programs that need to be designed or improved with special focus on developing effective clinical informatics
Collaborating with Quality and other departments to identify clinical quality outcomes associated with existing or new clinical informatics programs that are being improved or developed
Providing medical direction and expertise regarding the implementation and optimization of the electronic health record (EMR) system(s) and other health information technology platforms
Implementing effective clinical decision-making systems and participate in the development of clinical processes that support effective, efficient, safe, timely, and equitable patient- centered care
Developing and implementing plans to standardize order set and clinical decision support processes and procedures among hospitals through evidence-based standards of care
Evaluating clinical processes to determine best practice across the system to include transfer of knowledge and best practices regardless of origin
QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate - Required
Master's Degree - Preferred
3 years Practice as a Physician in either Acute or Surgery specialty - Required
Active user of Epic EMR - Required
Physician License (DR) - Indiana or Illinois -Required
Board Certification (BRD CERT) - Preferred
