Franklin Animal Shelter NH is Hiring an Animal Shelter Manager Near Franklin, NH

Shelter Manager is responsible for the daily management of the shelter building, supplies, care of animals in

custody, records management and employee scheduling. Shelter Manager will also manage animal surrenders,

adoptions and ACO interactions as the prime contact of the Shelter. Shelter Manager will ensure that volunteer

interactions with Shelter are scheduled, as necessary, and all volunteers are limited to their assigned shelter

duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate good relations with adopters, pet owners, volunteers and staff. Act in a courteous and

professional manner with all visitors, staff, volunteers and board members.

  • Investigate and approve all adoption applications prior to release of any animal. Manage all animal

surrenders from citizens. Work with City ACOs to provide any support necessary to protect animals.

  • Manage the Shelter's case, surrender, adoption software system and other shelter records.
  • Compassionate care of all animals.
  • Manage the feeding and medical programs for each animal. Ensure staff is aware and in compliance

with each program.

  • Ensure that kennels and other holding areas are clean, orderly and ready for use, if unoccupied. Animals

in custody must have clean, comfortable bedding.

  • Manage an appropriate exercise program for each animal in custody.
  • Manage inventory of the Shelters medications and other supplies to ensure adequate supply.
  • Manage employee scheduling to ensure necessary coverage of the Shelter. Work with volunteers to

schedule times and activities to meet the needs of the Shelter.

  • Attend monthly board meetings and appropriate committee meetings as required
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to provide appropriate care of animals, required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with the public, employees, volunteers and board members, required
  • Associate degree or 2 years of managerial experience, required.
  • Demonstrate computer skills, required.
  • Demonstrate organization skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Valid driver's license, required. Automobile liability insurance required to transport animals.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as required, during work hours.
  • Ability to properly restrain and handle animals.
  • Maintain availability and flexibility of time.
