FRED FINCH YOUTH CENTER is Hiring an Assistant Director/Clinical Manager Near Oakland, CA

The Fred Finch Avalon Program is a 14-bed residential treatment facility with an on-site, non-public school which includes integrated intensive mental health services.

The program provides a safe, stable, and highly structured environment by combining intensive staffing, a milieu culture, mental health interventions and behavior modification. Youth are assessed at in-take and receive on-going evaluation. Individual, group, family and milieu therapy is a part of everyday life. Youth also receive case management, medication support and monitoring, expressive arts, special education, crisis intervention, behavior management and skill-building. The goal of the program is to maximize a resident’s level of functioning to enable them to engage in a pattern of everyday living similar to that of non-disabled peers. We strive to increase a resident’s abilities to live in a less restrictive environment with less intensive staffing, less formal structure, and more relaxed programming.

What You Will Do

If you are an experienced mental health clinician with strong leadership skills and a passion for working with teens with autism or other developmental delays, you might be perfect for our Assistant Director/Clinical Manager position. This is a multifaceted management position responsible for overseeing the therapeutic treatment of high-needs children in residential and academic settings. The position offers the opportunity to:

  • Supervise a team of clinicians and behavior analysts
  • Provide clinical training and coaching
  • Collaborate with the staff psychiatrist and institutional partners
  • Oversee treatment planning and implementation
  • Manage referrals and intake coordination
  • Assist in program development and management

Shifts Available 
Full Time – Schedule to be determined

Salary RangeIn accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California is between $48.41 and $78.86 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

  • MA/MSW/PhD/PsyD Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Current California LCSW, MFT, or Psychologist license.
  • A minimum of two (2) years post-licensure experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical setting required; relevant leadership experience may be considered.
  • The ability to meet able to meet California Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) supervisor requirements within six (6) months, if supervising staff who are accruing hours toward licensure from the BBS.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in of wraparound, community based, residential, day treatment, or another milieu.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of children and ability to utilize this knowledge in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
