The Frederick National Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious diseases.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Laboratory Animal Sciences Program (LASP) provides exceptional quality animal care and technical support services for animal research performed at the National Cancer Institute at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. LASP executes this mission by providing a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art technologies and services that are focused on the design, generation, characterization and application of genetically engineered and biological animal models of human disease, which are aimed at the development of targeted diagnostics and therapies. LASP contributes to advancing human health, developing new treatments, and improving existing treatments for cancer and other diseases while ensuring safe and humane treatment of animals.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Coordinator II is responsible for the support of administrative operations of the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory. Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Sample data entry
  • Information management
  • Report distribution
  • Interaction with the investigative/technical staff with regards to sample submission and resolution of discrepancies
  • Perform data entry for project tracking and core and technical service billing
  • Procurement of office and laboratory supplies using all mechanisms (Blanket Order, Purchase Request, credit card) either by telephone, email, or via the internet
  • Entering Blanket Orders, Credit Card Orders, and PRs, into DELTEK Costpoint
  • Completing credit card reconciliations within established time frames, addressing invoicing issues, requesting direct payments via Corcentric
  • Use financial reports in Cognos to research orders placed
  • Placing service requests for maintenance service repairs
  • General office duties include but not limited to; filling, answering, and directing phone calls and emails
  • Schedule and document meetings via calendar invites, Microsoft Teams, and hosting WebEx meetings
  • Attend meetings, takes notes, document action items and distribute minutes
  • Preparation of scientific travel documents
  • Correspondence (telephone, email, etc.) with internal staff and external customers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by a responsible authority


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Possession of high school diploma or equivalent
  • In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of two (2) years of clerical/administrative experience including one (1) year at the level of Secretary I or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform work assignments independently or alongside other team members in the required/expected timeframe, and in accordance with the established policy and/or procedure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, multi-priority environment
  • Working knowledge of administrative office operations.
  • Experience and proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel,
  • Power Point, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint, Cor 360, Cognos
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
