The Projects and Events Manager will join a dedicated unit of content development and research professionals working in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Government Innovation (GI) team to:

The Insights Unit is part of a firm of 50-plus professionals that offers strategic consulting services to foundations, nonprofit organizations, and public interest coalitions, partnering with many of the nation’s leading philanthropic institutions.

The Projects and Events Manager’s primary focus will be to leverage the research and content expertise of the Insights Unit in support of multiple GI projects and events, with a particular emphasis on Bloomberg CityLab—an annual summit that brings together global mayors alongside prominent city innovators and urban experts to discuss and discover replicable solutions to pressing issues. The Projects and Events Manager will work closely with Bloomberg Philanthropies and other partners to support the design, development, and facilitation of expert roundtables, workshops, partner meetings, and other initiatives that uncover new insights and translate them into actionable strategies that can be integrated across GI's programmatic initiatives.

  • Defining and mapping needs, timelines, and deliverables for select projects and events, with a particular focus on CityLab
  • Project managing collateral development—in coordination with graphic design support—including presentations, handouts, and other materials
  • Tracking progress and ensuring the timely completion of event planning and execution of tasks and priorities
  • Capturing event highlights through summaries, memos, and other documentation
  • Supporting the design, tracking, and delivery of miscellaneous content and research projects as needed
