We are seeking a Part-Time (PRN) Rad Tech/Surgical Technologist to join our growing team. A minimum of 12-24 hours of availability per week is preferred, with some weekends required. Responsibilities

• For Surgical Technologist:
  
  • Prepare and organize operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies for various surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during procedures.
  • Handle specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings.
  • Set up and maintain a sterile field for the patient during procedures.
  • Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables to prevent injury.
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Inspect, replace, and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• For Rad Tech:
  
  • Complete patient exam preparation.
  • Perform ultrasound examinations under physician supervision.
  • Analyze test results and review images for quality and thoroughness.
  • Provide direct patient care, adhering to sterilization procedures and safety protocols.
  • Create reports and treatment plans based on imaging analysis.
  • Record findings and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with policies.

Required Skills

• Ultrasound Imaging: Operate equipment to acquire diagnostic images and conduct pertinent testing.
• Basic Life Support: Certification to provide life-saving support in emergencies.
• Data Entry: Record results in electronic systems and update patient records regularly.
• Analytical Skills: Deductive reasoning to identify abnormalities in imaging.
• Interpersonal Skills: Build rapport with patients for smooth and accurate encounters.
• Organizational Skills: Maintain precise and accurate records.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job duties including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting during regular shifts. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic and/or OR environment.

Requirements

• Education: Associate’s degree in radiology, sonography, surgical technology, or completion of an accredited ultrasound training program.
• Certification: Certification as a surgical technologist preferred; RVT certification preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years working as a surgical technologist or similar role.
• Continuing Education: Participation in in-services and education programs required.
• Basic Life Support Certification: Required for both roles.
• Vascular or Cardiac Care Experience: Preferred.
