Summary

The Digital Sales Manager, Event Technology is responsible for managing incoming event technology software and services related sales leads, building strong relationships internally to find new opportunities for sales growth, and converting leads into successful event technology customers. This role will be actively driving and managing customer sales by methodically qualifying, building, and managing an accurate sales funnel and pipeline for Freeman’s Event Technology Products and Services.
This position will support our Audio Visual & Event Technology team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Play a primary role in the selling process with Freeman customers; responsible for being the primary digital point of contact for prospective clients.
  • Qualify prospects’ needs and effectively map them to Freeman’s Event Technology software solutions (including but not limited to specific modules, integrations, attendee/exhibitor/speaker journeys etc.)
  • Create sales proposals, assist in the preparation of the technical elements of proposals, negotiate and follow up to secure business
  • Deliver product demonstrations of specific Event Technology software platform offering to clients
  • Sell consultatively by continuing to educate, challenge, and follow up to acquire all necessary information in order to close and produce the event successfully
  • Liaise between Account Executives, customers and the Operations Department to develop a statement of work upon order confirmation to maximize efficiency and accuracy in the execution of the project
  • Play a leading role in educating regional and national Account Executives on our technology solutions and concepts
  • Learn our competitor offerings and implement sales tactics that position Freeman as the leader in event software & streaming services
  • Interface with other Digital team members to collaborate on larger Digital initiatives
  • Assist other Freeman Sales divisions respond to client requests, contract renewal discussions, and RFP requests.
  • Manage relationships with the lines of business to maximize opportunities and drive growth
  • Actively participate in retrospective business reviews to apply positive and negative experiences to future improvements in software system design and process (lessons learned)
  • Assist in the preparation of strategic sales and business development planning
  • Establish, maintain, and actively pursue relationships, networking contacts, and channels with customers, key suppliers, and industry counterparts
  • Attend state and national industry meetings and functions as directed
  • Stay abreast of industry technology standards and company product knowledge and expertise
  • Assist in training sales personnel as requested

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, High School Diploma and/or Equivalent with relevant training/experience
  • Minimum (4) four years in the events industry
  • Minimum (4) four years in sales and project management
  • Experience in Audio Visual operations and/or sales in the events industry is preferred
  • Proven track record of success closing new business and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong technical aptitude and quick ability to learn new concepts
  • Ability to write reports, proposals (RFPs), and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • High degree of attention to detail
