    REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and GroundsJOB GOAL:
    To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Reports to location assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds on a daily basis
    • Cleans each area of the school on a schedule set by the Head Custodian of that particular building;
    • Keeps building, premises, and play areas neat and clean at all times;
    • Shovels and/or sands walks, steps and entry ways as necessary;
    • Checks nightly to ensure that all exit doors and windows are properly locked, and all lights except for those left on for safety reasons, are turned off;
    • Cleans corridors after school each day, and after night activities, when their condition requires it;
    • Cleans and disinfects restroom floors, sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily;
    • Applies disinfectant as needed by using the proper applications
    • Washes interior windows on a regularly scheduled basis;
    • Performs such yard keeping chores as grass trimming, minor tree trimming, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition;
    • Keeps all floors in a clean, dry and attractive condition;
    • Reports required repairs needed promptly to the head custodian;
    • Reports immediately to the head custodian any damage to school property;
    • Remains on the school premises during regular work hours and when the use of the building has been authorized and attendance required by the building administrator or head custodian;
    • Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair by making such minor building repairs as personal capabilities allow;
    • Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste;
    • Performs such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the building administration or head custodian.
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-months per year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education through collective bargaining with the representative association.
    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
    SALARY RANGE: JOB 1
