To prepare and manage school-wide assessments, facilitate benchmark data reviews, and play a key role in the intervention planning for students in all grade levels. To create a schedule of interventions, organize staff intervention training, and monitor the successful implementation of intervention plans. Be an active participant in the school improvement process and promote a culture of continuous instructional improvement. To actively engage in the consistent implementation and monitoring of the district-wide MTSS process. COMPONENTS FOR PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE: DOMAIN 1: Planning and Preparation
Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in MTSS and professional development
Demonstrate knowledge of the district’s MTSS program and levels of teacher skill in delivering that program
Establish goals for MTSS instructional support programs appropriate to the setting and the teachers served
Demonstrate knowledge of resources, both within and beyond the school and district
Plan the MTSS instructional support program, integrated with the overall school program (e.g. gathering and interpreting data, designing and implementing professional development plans)
Develop a plan to evaluate the MTSS logistical support for implementation
Collaborate with building and district administration on budget planning
DOMAIN 2: The Environment
Create an environment of trust and respect
Establish a culture for ongoing instructional improvement
Establish clear procedures for teachers to gain access to instructional support
Establish and maintaining norms of behavior for professional interaction
Organize physical space for workshops or training
Collaborate with building administration to organize appropriate physical space for local or district assessments (Including the planning of materials, schedules, and a match between the physical arrangement and an environment conducive to testing)
Promote a positive approach to behavior intervention and support
Promote and communicate vision, values, and understandings related to servicing students on an MTSS continuum
DOMAIN 3: Delivery of Service
Collaborate with staff in the design of interventions that support core instruction
Engage staff in learning new instructional skills including differentiation and Tier 1 intervention
Locate resources for staff to support instructional improvement
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in service delivery
Plan and lead data meetings, and contribute to decision-making related to student services
Act as liaison between general education and special education by attending appropriate PST meetings, domain meetings, and other decision-making meetings
Organize intervention schedules
Manage benchmark and intervention data including history of intervention services in Educlimber
Ensure appropriate service delivery through routine fidelity checks
Review and contributing to documentation of identification for special education
Manage intervention materials and training
Manage the intervention delivery cycles for MTSS services
Manage the system for documentation of MTSS data, services, attendance, and intervention history in Educlimber
Evaluate the current procedures for conducting fidelity checks of MTSS services
Communicate with parents regarding the delivery of MTSS services as needed
DOMAIN 4: Professional Responsibilities
Reflect on practice
Prepare and submitting reports
Coordinate work with other instructional specialists
Participate in a professional community
Engage in self-guided and collaborative professional development
Show professionalism, including integrity and confidentiality
____________________________________________________________________________________ TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (200 days) Certified position with salary, differential and hours to be established by the Board of Education under the negotiated agreement between FSD#145 and the FEA. EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provision established by the Board of Education. The building administrator will evaluate the MTSS Facilitator.
