About us
We are seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, and providing safety training to truck drivers. The Safety and Compliance Manager will also be responsible for monitoring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, investigating incidents, and developing emergency response plans. The ideal candidate will have a background in Truck Fleet safety management and a commitment to creating a safe work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
Assist with monitoring FMCSA scores, and develop and implement proactive programs of action to continually improve performance and address deficiencies
Ensure DOT specific safety policies and procedures are managed
Ensure all company safety policies are understood and enforced
Assist with safety training training plans
Ensure that all Hours of Service regulations, DOT / State regulations, and company safety policies are adhered to
Ensure DOT Paper-logs and/or E-Logs are audited and correct
Daily audit of all fuel purchases
Review incoming applicants and existing driver’s DQ files to assure compliance for a DOT regulated position
Screen applicants, making hiring recommendations when appropriate
Develop, implement, and train safety policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all DOT and OSHA regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain hazard awareness documentation for all departments
Maintain manual and electronic documents, manage drug screening program for DOT, oversee licensing for drivers and equipment
Oversee defensive driving programs for all drivers
Oversee compliance with the FMCSA drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
Oversee all elements of the crash management process
Review and maintain accident files for accuracy and documents needed
Inspections of driver qualifications, company equipment, and contractor’s vehicles
Logbook monitoring - call, notify, correct, and retrain drivers
Distribution of important documents to all drivers
Initial emergency response - minor claims, accidents
Fill ifta
Manage system that tracks the Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing
Provide oversight on the DOT Inspection and Citation Processing to insure strict compliance
Monitor Driver Qualification procedure including the components to ensure proper compliance from Federal, State company rules, regulations and policies to include: CDL, Physicals, MVR Reports, License suspensions agreements, and Hazmat training
Identify systems and processes within the company that are out of compliance and work with internal management to provide corrective actions
Work with medical facilities to ensure compliance to Federal mandated requirement
Provide support as needed for Injury, Workers Compensation, and Accident claims
Track OSHA, injury, and accident statistics and reports
Track Driver Log exception processing, and on point-of-contact for compliance
Monitor driver qualification files
Manage electronic logging system including driver setup, Hours of Service and DVIR reviews
Manage fleet tax and mileage reports (IFTA and non IFTA)
Manage, motor vehicle fleet registrations, insurance and inspections
Manage vehicle tolls for all vehicles
Conduct reviews of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations
Review hours of service records for accuracy
Qualifications:
DOT: 2-5 years (Required)
Knowledgeable of DOT Driver Qualification Requirements
Experience with electronic logging platforms
Experience with truck registration and IFTA
Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work independently without supervision
Must possess basic knowledge of DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Must possess intermediate computer skills to navigate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Experience in dealing with Accidents and Insurance Claims
Excellent people skills!!
Demonstrate a good understanding of key safety principles in the transportation industry
Experience with Keep Trucking ELD Software is a bonus
At least one year with trucking company
Has worked with driver logs
Has worked with DQ files
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
