About the Role
Big Think is disrupting the traditional market of bland and generic training content taught by no-name moderators. We provide a highly-curated library of expert-led, L&D-designed lessons that enable transformation and drive culture by focusing on developing mindsets and behaviors instead of skills.
As a Product Designer at Big Think , you will design innovative products that empower learners to unlock their leadership potential and enable customers to see the results of their educational investments.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team, including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Educational Content Creators, to deliver impactful, user-centered solutions. Your expertise in design thinking, user research and visual communication will be crucial to our success.
What You'll Do
  • Lead Design Initiatives: Own the design process for new products and features, from conceptualization to implementation, focusing on creating intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance the learning experience.
  • User Research and Testing: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand the needs and behaviors of our target audience. Utilize insights to inform design decisions and help iterate on prototypes to ensure product-market fit.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with product managers, engineers, and content creators to ensure designs are feasible and align with educational goals. Participate in design workshops and brainstorming sessions to gather diverse perspectives.
  • Support Design Standards: Help maintain design guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure consistency and high quality across all products.
What You'll Need
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects in educational technology or related fields.
  • Visual Design Expertise: Good sense in typography, color, composition, balance, and layout to produce appealing designs aligned with brand identity.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Figma and basic understanding of HTML/CSS principles. Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of design patterns, user-centered design processes and methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and iterative development.
  • Communication: Good communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Education: A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred.
  • Passion for Learning: A genuine interest in education and leadership development.
  • Strategic Thinking: An approach to design that considers user experience and business goals.
