JOB DESCRIPTION 

TITLE: Title 1 Paraprofessional

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. 48 hours of college credit or an AA degree 

2. Hold or be eligible to obtain certification as a Substitute Teacher in accordance with the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board Substitute Teacher Certification

REPORTS TO: Building Principal 

JOB GOAL: To provide classroom support and direct instruction to students, individually, or in small groups, to enable students to achieve their educational goals and objectives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Collaborates with the classroom teacher to plan and prepare students for learning. 

2. Supports the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans. 

3. Assisting in planning lessons and activities for smaller groups or individuals under the direction of the teacher.

4. Tutoring and assisting students individually or in small groups in order to help them master reading and math assignments and reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.with gathering of evidence for school

5. Assists with implementation of testing accommodations.

6. Collect and provide data from progress monitoring assessments for tiered interventions.

7. Assist with gathering evidence for school improvement planning and documentation.

8. Attend Multi-tiered Systems of Support/Response to Intervention meetings and share data on student performance.

9. Motivates students. 

10. Communicates effectively with students. 

11. Aids the teacher in providing students with evaluative feedback. 

12. Provides opportunities for individual differences of students. 

13. Supports the teacher's efforts to ensure student time on task. 

14. Sets high standards for student behavior. 

15. Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships with others. 

16. Demonstrates awareness of the needs of students. 

17. Promotes self-discipline and responsibility. 

18. Supports school regulations and policies. 

19. The Title 1 paraprofessional assumes responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to school. 

20. Other duties which may, from time to time, be assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: At-will

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on classified staff evaluation.
