Purpose of Position :

This position will be responsible for the procurement of packaging, sanitation and QA supplies for the warehouse and fresh cut operation.

In this role, will also serve as a liaison between Del Monte and its vendors when seeking to research, evaluate, negotiate purchases, and packaging traceability.

Accountabilities :

• Manage Physical inventory packaging, supplies and seasonal fluctuation.
• Strong clerical skills for high volume data entry, run / create reports and statistics to analyze trends as needed, and determine best E.

T.A’s within a J.I.T system.

• Report and escalate any potential purchase order issues, as related to non-compliance on lead times, need-by-dates, and price increases.
• Evaluate bids, and make decisions, based on commercial and technical factors.
• Verify all vendor costs, quality and levels of service.
• Identify potential suppliers.
• Develop market knowledge and contacts for new and alternate products.
• Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures.
• Generate daily, weekly, and month-end inventories for packaging, raw and finished products.
• Assist Warehouse Manager with any potential shipping issues, including those related to the transportation department (i.

e. Tricont Trucking) and third party carriers.

• Communicate and work with Sales, Production and Distribution Centers to coordinate product delivery.
• Review incoming paperwork and Proof of Delivery (POD) ensure accuracy and consistency with Produce Pro entries.

Minimum Skills Required :

• High School Diploma or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2- years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent analytical, communication (i.e. written and oral) and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook).

Preferred :

• Oracle platform experience.
• Bi-lingual : Spanish and English.
• 2 to 4 years purchasing experience.
