Freshpet is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Secaucus, NJ
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP, and internal policies and procedures are followed
- Prepare journal entries for the month-end close and reconcile accounts.
- Assist with preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial reporting package
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries daily for cash and bank statement activity
- Manage intercompany reconciliation process
- Complete sales & use tax filings
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
- Warehouse and freight audit – breakdown costs so we can compare to current contracts.
- Inbound freight allocations against purchase orders.
- Complete month end logistic accrual and analysis on freight cost per pound.
- Responsible for preparation and tracking of miscellaneous invoices.
- Will be the Expensify plant champion and train new hires.
- Receiving intransits in our warehouse management system.
- Complete purchase price variance for raw material and packaging.
- Capital invoice receiving.
- Track sales and use tax for all invoicing.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Assists with audits of physical inventories (Raw Material and Spare Parts) at plant and various warehouse locations.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable Specialist on a day-to-day basis to assist with filing, matching and entering invoices.
- Other projects as assigned
- CPA or working towards CPA preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with large ERP systems and strong MS Office technical skills, specifically with MS Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills, time management, and project delivery
- Bachelor’s degree program in areas such as business administra tion, logistics, or accounting. Minimum 3 years up to 5 years of experience.
