Job Title:Maintenance Tech APosition ID: Department::MaintenanceReports To:Maintenance Supervisor Classification:Non-ExemptLocation:Onsite GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONMaintenance Tech A, is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency. In addition, the incumbent possesses supervisory responsibilities and functions.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObjectives of this RoleDirects the daily activities and assigns tasks to the techs. This also includes training and monitoring the work of such employees.Assists in the procurement of parts and planning of repairsLeads complex projects, preventive maintenance activities and repairs across the facilityAble to operate CMMS systems and demonstrate 100% functionality in order to complete work orders as well as log corrective maintenance issues in the systemEffectively communicate with internal and/or external Technical Support, production personnel and other techs to identify problematic areas of concern, advance circuits and grounding, interpret diagrams, and test equipmentPerform electrical repairs and troubleshoot for the following: PLC controls, AC&DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits and grounds, interpret diagrams, and test equipmentRead schematics, drawings and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusionsMust demonstrate an understanding of the company’s objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work activities should support achieving those goalsOversee or perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments and follow periodic preventive maintenance scheduleMaintain organized documentation and inspection records; be prepared for a facility audit of such records and related processesModel professional workplace conduct and adherence to company policies such as the GMP compliance, attendance, punctuality, efficient and productive work habits Provide support to Process Improvement (PI) projects and participate on safety teamsMust possess proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills (logic and control circuits) and emergency repair skills; ability to identify and repair problematic issues concerning all equipment and machinery, including finding innovative solutions to recurrent problemsAbility to use multimeter and other measurable instrumentsMust work effectively in a team setting as well as promote team and cooperationAbility to analyze work requirements and plan accordingly.Ability to cross train other mechanics as well as production personnelAbility to work with single and three phase voltageCapable of troubleshooting and making the repairs on AB PLC’s (programmable logic controllers)Ability to understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw conclusionsStrong organizational skillsEffective communication skillsFood Processing Industry experience, but not a mustServe as a resource to others in order to resolve mechanical and/or people issuesPerform other duties as required or assigned.
