Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is Hiring a Construction Inspector I Near Fresno, CA

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is currently recruiting for a Construction Inspector I in the Operations Construction Management section of the District. Primary duties include: construction inspection and coordinating field and laboratory testing on construction materials; inspection of drainage-related construction activity; conducting field survey parties, reviewing field data, and translating into construction drawings; coordinating work plans and construction schedules; securing permits; preparing construction reports, correspondence and associated materials; interpreting construction plans and drawings; representing the District at various meetings; monitoring, maintaining and operating inlets, manholes, valves, and other drainage facilities; data gathering and analysis; and other duties as needed.
Minimum QualificationsThe position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year experience in the construction of public works projects including drainage facilities and related sub-professional engineering work, surveying, and drafting. A valid California Driver License is also required.
Substitution: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field with specialization in construction, may substitute for the work experience requirement.
