- Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
- Determining facility and equipment specifications.
- Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
- Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, systems and quality controls.
- Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
- Developing capital improvement projects and negotiating associated contracts.
- Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance/project activities.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
- Working alongside Property Managers to ensure that the properties are operating effectively and that all initiatives are completed timely and consistently across the portfolio.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
- 5 years of experience as facilities engineer or in a similar role.
- Experience in all aspects of physical maintenance including but not limited to: asphalt, concrete, roofing systems, HVAC systems, remote systems management, primary/secondary utility services, elevators, security/entry systems, building signage etc.
- Team leadership and construction management experience.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive thinker with excellent execution skills and a leadership mentality.
- Excellent work ethic with strong verbal/written skills and professional demeanor.
