Overview
We are a rapidly growing, privately-owned company seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role also involves financial risk management and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations Management: Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Budget and Financial Forecasts: Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances as necessary.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Technical Accounting: Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Close Processes: Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Quality Control: Maintain quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Government Reporting and Tax Filings: Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
Additional Duties: Perform additional controller duties as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
Accounting and Finance Experience: A minimum of 3 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
Education: Advanced degree in accounting is required. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Financial Reporting: Strong acumen in financial reporting under US GAAP.

Software Skills:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management systems and the ability to manage the month-end/year-end close processes effectively.
IT Knowledge requirement: Basic knowledge of IT is required.
Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to support business needs.
Fieldwork and Site Visits: Open to conducting fieldwork and site visits as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
Flexibility: Must have a flexible work schedule and be willing to work extended hours/weekends as per business requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $185,000 - $225,000 per year
Work Setting: In-person

Location Requirement: Candidate must be located within Orange County or within a 20-25 mile radius of the job locations at La Palma and Newport Coast Drive.
