Overview:

Frontgrade is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer who will develop test plans, procedures, fixtures, design Special Test Equipment (STE), and will both support production test and perform the testing of motors, resolvers, encoders, actuators, slip rings, flex tapes, and control electronics. Emphasis should be placed on the use of test automation when developing test plans to optimize resource use and improve quality consistency. In addition to facilitating test readiness, and supporting ongoing test activities, the Test Engineering candidate will be trained to become knowledgeable in the operation of thermal vacuum chambers, ambient thermal chambers, and vibration test equipment.

Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop test plans to meet contract test requirements as defined by verification and validation flow down from customer specifications.
  • Implement the test plans by developing detailed procedures, fixtures, and the STE required to conduct the test activity.
  • Test and troubleshoot mixed analog and digital circuit cards.
  • Installation of test fixtures into thermal vacuum chambers and on the vibration shaker.
  • Perform specialized testing for advanced actuators and systems.
  • Provide ongoing support of production test technicians during production test activities.
Qualifications:

To join us youll need:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in this role or a similar role whose skills apply.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software and/or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible, the applicant must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Basic understanding of motor/actuator operation and testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 years of test software experience (LabVIEW, Python, or similar)
  • 4 years of electrical test engineering experience including electrical troubleshooting.
  • 4 years of experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Familiarity with testing and troubleshooting electrical components.
  • Experience interfacing with customers.
  • Familiarity with thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, and vibration testing experience.
  • Working in an aerospace business environment

Salary Range : $93,569 annually - $116,961 annually

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate
