Accounts Payable Clerk RoleThe Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Invoice ProcessingReceive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
Enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and timely.
Payment ProcessingReconcile accounts payable transactions.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Vendor ManagementCorrespond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain vendor files and ensure accuracy of vendor information.
Month-end ClosingAssist with month-end closing activities.
Prepare and maintain accruals for outstanding invoices.
ComplianceEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Adhere to accounting principles and standards.
Documentation And FilingMaintain accurate and organized records and documentation.
File and archive invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
Accounts Payable Clerk Background ProfileHigh school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
Oil and Gas experience a plus
Knowledge of accounts payable principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
