Corporate Controller Role:
The Corporate Controller will lead and steer the financial operations of the company, its subsidiaries, and projects, encompassing treasury, IT, and accounting functions.
Develop and enforce corporate financial and accounting policies, procedures, and frameworks in accordance with the directives set by the Board of Directors.
Provide managerial and technical guidance to ensure the accuracy of corporate financial data.
Formulate and execute both short-term and long-term financial strategies.
Chart the course for the financial operations of the company, determining objectives, methodologies, and resource allocation for both immediate and future financial endeavors.
Oversee the generation and distribution of financial information vital for the executive team's establishment and maintenance of operational budgets and related control measures.
Offer mentorship and supervision to subordinate managers for their professional growth, fostering in-service training and development to maintain a proficient finance and accounting unit.
Act as a pivotal member of the management team, furnishing necessary financial data and analysis when needed.
Maintain a favorable financial standing for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
Provide requisite financial data to external entities and firms for assessing bonding, insurance, credit, and similar aspects.
Offer corporate guidance to other executives and managers to ensure financial prosperity within their respective operational domains.
Supervise the preparation of mandatory Federal and State financial and informational tax reports, annual insurance renewals, and the annual audit of company financial reports.
Take charge of preparing the monthly consolidating financial statements.
Execute tasks as directed by the President or Board of Directors.
Corporate Controller Background Profile:
BS degree in Finance, Accounting
10 years of related experience
Prior experience working in the construction industry
Prior experience working with a construction accounting software, Foundation a plus
Job-costing experience
Experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, respond in timely fashion to deadlines, and balance workload in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of all aspects of construction accounting, taxation, and financial management required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills are vital.
