Personal Injury Attorney Role:
The personal injury attorney will represent clients who have been physically or fatally injured and handle cases involving car accidents, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, slip and fall accidents, defective products, and more. Their primary goal is to help clients receive compensation for their injuries, medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
Consult with clients to assess the details of their case and determine the viability of legal action.
Investigate the circumstances surrounding the injury by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing medical records.
Research relevant laws, statutes, and legal precedents to build a strong case on behalf of the client.
Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing parties to reach settlements.
Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and mediation or arbitration sessions.
Advocate for clients' rights and interests throughout the legal process.
Keep clients informed about the progress of their case and advise them on their legal options.
Collaborate with other legal professionals, such as paralegals, expert witnesses, and investigators, to strengthen the case.
Personal Injury Attorney Background Profile:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Texas State Bar Association and in good standing.
2-5 years of personal injury, civil litigation, and trial preparation.
Strong knowledge of personal injury law, tort law, and civil litigation procedures.
Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Compassion and empathy for clients who have suffered injuries.
Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Experience in trial advocacy and courtroom litigation preferred.
Continuing education to stay updated on changes in the law and legal strategies.
1st or 2nd chair trial experience is highly preferred but not required.
