DescriptionUnder the supervision of Production Manager, the incumbent will perform in-house installation, trouble shooting, and repairs on Company products. This person will ensure packaging machinery is fully functional and meets company and customer standards for performance, appearance, and overall quality.
Essential Job Functions
- Installs, services, and repairs SSL (Shrink Sleeve Label) and PSL (Pressure Sensitive Label) machinery on the shop floor
- Performs troubleshooting and start-up of machinery for demo purposes; resolves technical equipment failures
- Conducts testing and root cause analysis on machine components that will lead to effective problem solving
- Maintains full functional knowledge of machinery and HMI
- Completes machine checklists to confirm machine is complete and functional
- Operates packaging machinery to confirm efficiency is aligned with customer expectations
- Provides technical feedback on product improvements
- Understands and follows Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
- Completes other duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner
- Possesses a strong electrical and mechanical background with the ability to read and understand blue prints and electrical documentation
- Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills; must be able to manage tasks and projects with minimal guidance
- Ability to work week days with possibility of weekend overtime as necessary
- Experience with electrical systems including PLCs, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, etc
- Background with packaging equipment
- 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or Field Service Experience
