Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. *EDUCATION* Required: Undergraduate degree in a business discipline, Project Management or Construction or demonstrated experience in Project Management or Crew Supervision Preferred: None *LICENSING / REGISTRATION / CERTIFICATION* Required: None Preferred: Project Management Certification (i.e. AGC of America), Lean Construction Certification AGC of America *EXPERIENCE* Required: Three (3) years experience managing construction projects or crews Preferred: None *SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES* * Ability to accept direction and feedback from Senior Project Manager and follow through appropriately. * Ability to learn and use HCSS software, SureTrack and Timberline * Knowledge of road construction business, capabilities of crews and equipment * Ability to anticipate project issues, review options and choose best option to execute * Ability to focus on details * Ability to negotiate and to resolve conflicts * Expert skills at reading plans and specifications * Ability to motivate Superintendent and collaborate on projects * Ability to adjust to changes in work tasks or environment * Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and present questions when questions are unclear * Understanding of budgets and cost accounting principles * Knowledge of safety standards * Ability to operate in an organized and time efficient manner * Ability to take direction from Senior Project Manager or take initiative if exact direction has not been assigned * Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends when necessary * Reading, writing and arithmetic skills *PHYSICAL* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. BODY POSITIONS: Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing job functions. BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of their hands to fingers, handle office equipment and computers and computer keyboards. The ability to bend the body, crouch, kneel and crawl to reach for objects is required. BODY SENSES: The employee must have command of the following senses: sight, hearing, and touch. Specific abilities include: vision must be able to discern colors, as well as depth perception. STRENGTH: The employee must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity. *WORKING CONDITIONS* This position requires the employee to work outdoors in conditions that may range from hot to cold, as well as rainy and windy at times. Travel to the jobsite, and office may be in all types of weather conditions including rain, snow, windy and icy conditions. *AUTHORITY* The Project Manager is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned approved or delegated by the Senior Project Manager. Such authority may include: Report any abuse of the Company’s policies and procedures to Senior Project Manager or other members of Management. Authority to enforce the Company’s Safety Policies. Initiate disciplinary action against an Employee. *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* The primary functional duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager include but not limited to: * Identify potential hazards to project goals and evaluate options * Track job costs, production, man-hours and report out progress to goals * Review and execute change orders, lien waivers, affidavits and other contractual related documents * Review, track and perform billings as described in contracts * Process pay apps * Prepare and process submittals * Attend all Owners Meetings on assigned projects * Review invoices submitted to the Company for proper allocation to projects and cost lines * Work with Estimators to build project schedule in the bidding process * Coordinate with Crew Superintendents to maintain the resources necessary to meet or beat the schedule * Converting the bid estimate to Heavy Job * Recommend measures to improve efficiency, product quality, and safety * Assist interpreting plans and specifications for assigned projects when needed * Resolve conflicts and build resolutions to issues arising from plans and specifications * Communicate with Owner or Owner’s Rep or Engineer on project issues * Providing direct, objective and immediate feedback to Crew Superintendents and Project Managers about job performance * Ensure the project punch list is completed and the project is closed out following Company SOP within 30 days of demobilization. * Notify Senior Project Manager of any quality or safety related concerns * Keep Senior Project Manager informed in weekly meetings * Demonstrate initiative by evaluating situations, making decisions based on facts and solid judgments * Act in a manner that represents the professional manner reflecting the company’s values and principles * Perform duties in an independent manner with little to no supervision * Arrive at meetings on time and prepared to participate * Maintain a cooperative working relationship with Superintendents and staff members * Perform duties in a manner that is compliant with all applicable regulatory bodies, Texas DOT, P.E.‘s and Architects. * Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the Senior Project Manager * Attend Company sponsored training meetings *MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE* The Project Manager shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished: * The Senior Project Manager is kept informed of daily activity * Projects for the year generate at least 3% operating profit * Rework is minimized to 1% of contract value * Attendance and participation at Company Meetings * Other tasks assigned by the Senior Project Manager are performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Health savings account * Paid time off * Tuition reimbursement * Vision insurance Compensation package: * Bonus opportunities * Profit sharing * Weekly pay * Yearly pay Experience level: * 5 years Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Ability to Relocate: * Amarillo, TX 79108: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Amarillo, TX 79108Full Time
