POSITION SUMMARY

Retail Customer Service Representatives (CSR's) are responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing orders by phone, through the web, and email. All CSR's are responsible for answering incoming calls and responding to inquiries received via email. A typical day in the life of a CSR includes but is not limited to answering questions on a wide range of products and topics in our field; troubleshooting live items; assisting with tracking; processing payments; and other order-related activities.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and may require overtime as well as the ability to work nights and weekends as needed. However, during the first few weeks of training, the number of hours worked may range between 30–40 hours per week. Our office is located in the Olympia, WA area, however, this position is currently 100% remote (work from home) and is subject to resuming work in person at the Company’s discretion. Preference for candidates living near the Puget Sound area of WA state. Equipment and supplies will be provided for remote work; a reliable internet service is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides exceptional customer service to our valued customers, both internal and external.
• Learns a diverse product line and becomes knowledgeable in supporting mushroom cultivation.
• Answers a multi-line phone system and enters customer information into an order processing software systems.
• Communicates effectively orally and in writing, primarily via email correspondence.
• Routes incoming calls to other team members and accurately takes and relay messages.
• Determines and supports changing business priorities in a customer-focused work environment.
• Arranges and uses resources in an organized and efficient manner.
• Demonstrates optimism, enthusiasm, and composure in the face of difficult circumstances or setbacks.
• Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service which include meeting the quality standards for customer service and satisfaction.
• Excellent organizational skills and work habits.
• Ability to work independently with integrity, efficiency, and discernment, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to listen and give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Ability to read and understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Ability to speak clearly so others can understand clearly.
• Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words or mathematical operations).
• Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Ability to accurately type 40 or more words per minute.
• Ability to effectively present before groups as part of education and outreach.
• Passion for Mycology, Ecology, Dietary Supplements, Permaculture and/or Sustainability.
• Compassionate and empathetic to the needs of others.
• Previous experience with dietary supplement sales and Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act (DSHEA) regulations preferred.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; a stand-up desk is available upon request.
• Ability to communicate effectively by expressing oneself in a business conversation.
• Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g. patterns of numbers, letters, words, or mathematical operations).
• Ability to perceive, recognize, inspect and assess a variety of work situations in order to analyze and make recommendations.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and apply deductive and inductive reasoning, problem sensitivity and mathematical reasoning.
• Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve issues by using consistent and practical judgment.

Wage Range: $19.00- $25.70 per hour
