Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Family Law Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The Associate Family Law Attorney will primarily focus on handling a variety of family law cases under the supervision of senior attorneys. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of family law.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal representation to clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence cases.
2. Conduct legal research, and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to provide accurate legal advice and counsel to clients.
3. Prepare legal documents such as petitions, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
4. Represent clients in court hearings, mediation sessions, and negotiations with opposing counsel.
5. Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and solutions tailored to clients' needs.
6. Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, answer questions, and address concerns.
7. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, court rules, and deadlines in all aspects of case management.
8. Stay updated on developments in family law, attend continuing legal education seminars, and participate in professional associations to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing for the Washington State.
3. Prior experience or demonstrated interest in family law through coursework, internships, or prior legal practice.
4. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and advocate for clients effectively.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
7. Professional demeanor, integrity, and commitment to upholding ethical standards in the practice of law.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience representing clients in family law matters through internships, clerkships, or prior legal practice.
2. Familiarity with local family court procedures and practices.
3. Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken by clients in the community served by the firm.
