Future Link (www.futurelinkmd.org) is growing. We are looking for a passionate, positive, and motivated person to join our team as a Student Engagement Associate for a new position. The right individual will enjoy working with first-generation-to-college young adult students and the programs and processes that contribute to their success. The Student Engagement Associate serves as a key member of the Future Link team and an integral part of supporting, retaining, and engaging our students, volunteers, and key program components. This team member will be a quick learner and thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and flexible environment. Must live in Montgomery County and have a car and valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
1. Career Coaching Program
- Work closely with the Career Services Manager to provide logistics and administrative management for Future Link’s three-track Career Coaching program including the future expansion of Track I: Career Exploration.
- Follow students through the program from application, screening, matching with career coach, completion of toolbox steps, and internship placement.
- Liaise with and train assigned volunteer Career Coaches to assist Career Coach/student pairs.
- Help manage internship placements.
- Reach out proactively to students for career fair preparation.
2. Student Cohort Liaison
- Conduct regular student outreach and check-ins to ensure progress for assigned student cohort.
- Guide students toward relevant programs and services: scholarships, internships, Career Coaching, Mentoring, tutoring, transfer information, financial aid guidance, etc.
- Planning and implementation for programs and events.
- Liaise with assigned Mentors to support Mentor-Mentee pairs.
3. Tutoring and Mentoring Program Services
- Manage all matching and logistics for tutoring program.
- Assist the Director of Mentoring and Education with Mentoring program activities for students and volunteers.
4. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and implement programming in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and the ability to prioritize work effectively. A willingness and ability to work well in a collaborative environment with all internal team members and external stakeholders is essential.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Five plus years of experience required in a relevant discipline. Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct experience with college-level student engagement, social services administration, student support services and program implementation.
Salary Range/Benefits: $60,000 - $65,000. Health, vision, dental insurance, and retirement plan. Generous vacation schedule.
