The CDS Lunch Aide assists DSP’s to engage and support adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities as they participate in a variety of social, educational, wellness, and vocational training experiences. Community Day Services Lunch Aide
Assist with daily lunch preparation and provide consistent supports to those who require adaptive equipment or special diets.
Assist individuals during meals as directed.
Assure dishes are washed and meal prep area is clean.
Job-coach individuals as they perform assigned job duties.
Encourage independence and self-reliance, allowing individuals to achieve their greatest potential by giving them opportunities to make informed decisions and choices.
• Complete appropriate incident/injury reports, critical incident reports and seizure reports as directed. • Insure the safety of the individuals served in the program.
Be alert to individual medical needs, provide first aid and contact Team Lease, CDS Management staff or a designated agency health professional when necessary.
• Meet regularly and communicate with CDS Team to address issues related to individuals served. Other Responsibilities • Responsible for attending trainings to meet annual requirements: First Aid, CPR, Safety and OIG • Respect individuals served and promote a positive image of persons with disabilities
Perform other related duties as assigned

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to walk a moderate distance, greater than 250 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid Illinois Driver’s License • Maintain minimum insurance requirement • Pass psychical function test • Must have or be able to obtain CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, First Aid certifications • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
This position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position (15 hours), Monday through Friday 10:30 am1:30pm. This individual reports directly to the CDS Coordinator.
