Who You Are::

We are recruiting a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Database Administrator /Business Intelligence Developer. This role involves managing and optimizing databases, as well as developing business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and create meaningful insights.

What You'll Do::

Responsibilities:

  1. Database Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
    • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
    • Implement and maintain database security protocols to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of databases with other systems.
  2. Data Modeling and Design:
    • Design and implement database schemas to support business requirements.
    • Develop and maintain data models for efficient storage and retrieval of information.
    • Normalize data structures to minimize redundancy and improve data integrity.
    • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database design.
  3. Business Intelligence Development:
    • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
    • Create interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
    • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into data warehouses or data marts.
    • Implement data mining and predictive analytics techniques to identify patterns and insights.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  4. Data Integration and Warehousing:
    • Develop and maintain data integration pipelines to consolidate disparate data sources.
    • Design and implement data warehouses or data lakes to store structured and unstructured data.
    • Ensure data quality and consistency through data cleansing and validation processes.
    • Implement data governance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Documentation and Training:
    • Document database architecture, configurations, and procedures for future reference.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on database usage and best practices.
    • Create technical documentation for business intelligence solutions and data integration processes.
  6. Other Duties as assigned:
    • Creating and maintaining database standards and policies
    • Supporting database design, creation, and testing activities
    • Data architecture
    • Managing the database availability and performance, including incident and problem management
    • Administering database objects to achieve optimum utilization
    • Defining and implementing event triggers that will alert on potential database performance or integrity issues
    • Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc.
    • Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc. and generating reports
    • Identifying reporting, and managing database security issues, audit trails, and forensics
    • Designing database backup and recovery, archiving, and storage strategy
    • Advanced Power BI report generation and user support
    • Business Intelligence Development:
    • Formulating the business requirements for the reporting layer
    • Turning business requirements into technical requirements
    • Developing, deploying, and maintaining BI tools
    • Assist in database design, data modeling, and curating reports
    • Write technical documentation for BI tools
What You Bring::
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Business Intelligence Developer.
    • Proficiency in SQL programming and database management systems.
    • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
    • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
    • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and ETL processes.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    • Certification in database administration or business intelligence (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
    • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
    • Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms.
    • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
