G.A. Rogers & Associates has partnered with our Plano, Texas based client in search of an Accounting Director to lead their Accounting Operations team.
This role is hybrid (3 days onsite) and offers impressive benefits earning potential.
Requiring a CPA, experience working with a publicly held organization and a past overlap with revenue recognition (606)...this role will mentor and lead the revenue accounting team.
$155,000-$170,000 30% bonus potential
What You'll Do:
- Architect and implement accounting policies, particularly around revenue recognition and cost accounting, ensuring consistency and compliance across all regions.
- Lead a team of skilled accounting professionals, managing all operational accounting procedures.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying areas for change, recommending solutions, and keeping leadership informed.
- Represent finance during large deal reviews, partnering with the CFO to ensure financial viability.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate seamless reporting.
- Partner with Operations leadership to optimize financial decisions, implement best practices, and safeguard company assets.
- Manage month/quarter-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and review.
- Ensure accuracy by reviewing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Maintain robust documentation for SOX compliance and oversee consistent control execution.
- Build and retain a high-performing accounting team through strategic hiring and development initiatives.
- Take ownership of special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA required).
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in general accounting (telecom or high-tech equipment manufacturing experience a plus).
- Proven ability to navigate revenue (ASC 606) and cost accounting principles.
- Experience in both public accounting and private companies is a benefit.
- Strong understanding of major ERPs (Oracle, SAP preferred, Oracle Cloud experience highly desired).
- A track record of leading process improvement initiatives and managing multiple projects.
- Top-notch Microsoft Excel skills.
- A meticulous mind for detail, exceptional organization, and powerful time management abilities.
- Self-starter with a follow-through attitude and a knack for timely updates.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- A quick learner who can adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- A desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment that values best practices and SEC compliance.
