Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
GIS has been putting people first since 1948. GIS is a multi-divisional company with many independent and cooperating divisions such as mechanical, electrical, engineering, fabrication, on shore and off shore. GIS is an EOE employer.
- Assist with the technical execution of assigned projects.
- Assist with design efforts: performs engineering studies, writes technical reports, reviews technical data, performs engineering design, leads preparation of plans and specifications, performs quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Assist with engineering calculations using appropriate techniques and/or design software (Mathcad, Excel, structural modeling software, etc).
- Assist with geometric design (site plans, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, structural design, etc).
- Assist with the preparation of project deliverables – plans, specifications, reports, calculation packages, cost estimates, etc. May include active plan production using AutoCAD suite of drafting software.
- Assists with bidding & negotiation: advertisements, preparation for pre-bid meetings, preparation of addenda, prepare responses to Contractor RFIs, reviews and tabulates bids.
- Assists with construction administration: assists with pre-construction and progress meetings, reviews submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares and reviews field and change orders, assists with pay applications.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering
- Licensure as an Engineer Intern or Professional Engineer
- Structural engineering experience
