G&W Products is Hiring a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Near Fairfield, OH

G & W Products is a leader in contract metal manufacturing and fabrication. Founded in 1968, our areas of expertise include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating and assembly. Our modern facilities include 170,000 square feet of manufacturing space between three facilities located in Fairfield, OH. We specialize in numerous industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We have created a new opening for a Certified Weld Inspector. This position will be responsible for working with weld supervisors, leads and welders to verify conformance and conducting dimensional and weld inspections, workmanship and conformance of quality and safety standards.
What do I need to bring?
  • Must be AWS, Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
  • 2 years of weld inspection, required
  • Must be proficient at reading weld symbols and blue-print drawings
  • Experience with D1.1 and Ground Combat Vehicle Welding code for aluminum and steel
  • Capable of using measuring equipment (i.e. fillet gages, calipers, height gages, etc.)
  • Proficiency in GD&T preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Responsibilities:
  • Observe testing and verify conformance of welds
  • Work with Senior CWI in developing and approving required weld documentation
  • Conduct weld audits
  • Other duties as assigned
