Who You Are:
Global Head of Tax will report to the CFO and will oversee all tax matters for Galaxy's businesses. This person will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, and internal stakeholders, as well as external advisors.
What You'll Do:

• Lead proactive tax strategy, planning and optimization.
• Advise senior management on tax implications of business initiatives globally.
• Oversee quarterly/annual tax reporting, preparation of tax returns globally, tax workpapers, tax estimates, tax distributions.
• Review and enhance internal tax policies and tax automation processes.
• Oversee documentation for key tax positions, processes and controls.
• Provide tax guidance for internal restructurings, acquisitions, and investments.
• Review, analyze, and interpret current and new tax laws, regulations, guidance and assist with advising internal stakeholders on impact to current business lines and new products.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the global tax team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Represent the company in tax-related discussions with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and industry groups.

What We're Looking For:

• Intellectually curious and creative self-starter.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience with a global law firm, Big 4 accounting firm, financial services/investment management company, or a combination.
• Broad experience involving tax provisions, financial reporting, partnership, corporate, international, and employee payroll tax, with a focus on financial products and services.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar, and/or Law degree.
• CPA license, Master's in Taxation, LL.M. in Taxation a plus.
• Ability to work independently, but within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Meticulously organized and process driven.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with digital assets and blockchain technology, nice to have but not required.
• Experience working with "Up-C" structures and partnerships.
• Experience with automating tax processes.

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.

$250,000-$300,000 USD
