Job Summary:

GalaxyCon is a festival of fandom that celebrates comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more. GalaxyCon is more than a comic-con, it’s a galaxy of fun!

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Warehouse Assistant to join our team. Our warehouses are the backbone of our operations, ensuring that every event is stocked with the merchandise and materials needed to create a memorable experience for our attendees.

This is a full-time position based out of our Fort Lauderdale, FL offices. This is not a remote position. This will pay between $16-$18/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management: Assist in the daily tracking, maintenance, and organization of inventory, including cases, boxes, and pallets.
• Heavy Lifting: Move 3000 lb stationary objects without assistance and lift up to 225 lbs to waist level repeatedly.
• Stair Climbing: Lift a 75 lbs load to waist level and climb stairs in temperatures exceeding 85° F multiple times a day.
• Sorting Tasks: Perform repetitive sorting tasks by size, color, and shape for several hours at a time without direct supervision.
• Equipment Operation: Operate unpowered pallet jacks, hand-trucks, and u-boats fully loaded with merchandise.
• Tool Proficiency: Utilize basic tools such as hammers, power drills, screwdrivers, and box cutters effectively.
• Ladder Work: Climb ladders exceeding 30 feet in height when necessary.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in Warehouse management, logistics, or a similar role
• Forklift certification is highly preferred. Candidates with this qualification will be prioritized.
• A physical stamina, with the ability to lift and move heavy objects, operate machinery, and work in various weather conditions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities
• A passion for comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more
• A willingness and ability to travel to GalaxyCon events, which may require working on weekends and holidays
