Galilee Church is Hiring an Audio Visual Service Director Near Sterling, VA

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Audio Visual Service Director oversees the operation of the soundboard, production of visual presentations for all worship services, production of short videos for use in worship, and filming of worship for streaming and posting to multiple online outlets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A shared vision for the church’s ministry.
  • Skilled in audio-visual technology such as computer projection, video cameras, sound, lighting and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve quickly.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with pastors and music director to prepare details for production and broadcasting of worship services.
  • Implement the weekly worship script and information pertaining to use of digital visuals, occasional videos, recorded music, and camera angles interspersed with screen-sharing images.
  • Train internal volunteers on sound board operation, slideshow presentation and operation of cameras.
  • Must be present every Sunday morning to perform thorough sound checks before the worship service and ensure operators are available throughout the services; includes set up and operation (or a delegation of tasks).
  • Be present for special services (Christmas Eve, Easter, Holy Week, etc.) to perform thorough sound checks and ensure operators are available through service; includes set up and operation (or a delegation of tasks).
  • Manage the live stream feed on social media outlets and related software.
  • Operate overhead lights depending on the needs of the event.
  • Weekly maintenance of equipment; check and replace microphone batteries and proper set up microphones.
  • Direct tech persons for best camera angles, and overall audio levels.
  • Manage feedback from viewers and occasionally troubleshoot issues in real-time.
  • Follow special shutdown protocols for equipment after services.
  • Interface recordings of services with website and other platforms.
  • Make arrangements for software and hardware to remain updated and in good working order.
  • Serve as point of contact for delegating volunteers to meet AV needs for other ministries and activities.
  • Maintain repository of service recordings.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year of experience with digital soundboard operation, preferably with Media Shout Presentation software and Wire Cast Livestreaming service.
  • Experience with video production including operation of cameras and editing.
  • Able to work with and train volunteers in a church environment.
  • Must have a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus through audio/visual ministries.
  • References required.

SUPERVISOR: Reports to the Senior Pastor and connects with the Worship & Communications Team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
