Galt House Hotel is Hiring a Carpenter Near Louisville, KY
The Carpenter assists in the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation remodeling and general upkeep in order to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers. This person performs preventative maintenance that could involve the use and operation of complex and highly technical equipment and techniques.

Work Requirements
- Repair, maintain, dismantle structures, furniture, woodwork, doors, folding walls, ceilings, tile, sheetrock and hardware throughout the Hotel.
- Visually inspects, diagnoses problems, takes measurements and makes necessary adjustments to items such as door hardware to ensure safe, smooth operation of guestrooms, public space, and back of the house facilities.
- Performs shop work to repair or build furniture and small structures.
- Able to work closely with vendors and team members to ensure proper quantities of building supplies are always on hand without exceeding the monthly budget.
- Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests, colleagues, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling and general upkeep in order to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers.
- Complete assigned work orders for general repair within assigned time-frame in order to achieve the utmost operational efficiency of the Hotel, its’s safety, and its equipment.
- Immediately and courteously, respond to guests’ needs in order to repair and/or resolve room maintenance requests and problems as they arise.
- Maintain tools, work- spaces and equipment in safe, secure and good condition in order to reduce accidents and to prolong their use.
- Repair and/or change room locks for the security of hotel and guests.
- Responsible for PPE (personal protective equipment), use and daily maintenance.
- Support the HotSOS work order system in implementation and adherence, including the prioritization of assigned work. Originate work orders to remedy problems and/or faulty conditions and assure the quality and timelines of the remedial work.
- All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of related work experience.
- The ideal employee has completed apprenticeship prior to assuming Carpenter responsibilities.
