An Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily business operations of a retail store. General tasks include supervising employees, communicating with and helping customers and carrying out directives given by the Store Manager and upper management. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for leading the team of employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
Compensation
The Assistant Store Manager position pays $16.50/hour, with an expected 20-30-hour flexible work week

The ideal Assistant Manager candidate is an enthusiastic member of a hobby gaming community with experience on a retail team. They are also an active member or community leader or organizer for a hobby game, such as Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar, Magic: the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, a board game organized play program, etc. Experience in store management, willingness to work hard, and enthusiasm for welcoming newcomers to the community are paramount for the position.
The ideal candidate meets all of the following criteria. Candidates that meet some criteria are encouraged to apply as well:
2 years experience working at a retail location;
1 years leadership experience;
Willingness to learn about other games and to welcome new customers;
A welcoming and can-do attitude paired with willingness to work hands-on when necessary;
Knowledge of at least one major hobby game’s rules and organized play programs;
Experience coordinating the organized play program for a hobby game in a store location, a geographical region, or at gaming conventions;

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the following:

Location cleanliness
Assisting maintaining online social media profiles
Assisting maintaining the store calendar
Assigning tasks to subordinate employees as needed
Training staff
Supporting the Store Manager in their duties and taking on managerial tasks as assigned
