GANAS is a full-service fabrication shop specializing in architectural millwork, metalwork, furniture, and custom buildouts. Our quality and hands on approach for a broad variety of clients and designs is exciting and challenging. With our team of project managers, design engineers, and craftspeople, GANAS partners with clients locally in Detroit and across the country.
This is a full-time hybrid role as a Millwork Project Manager at GANAS. Our Project Manager’s are responsible for project coordination as they move through engineering and fabrication, with a focus on the client. Experience in budgeting, scheduling, procurement coordination, shipping, and installation coordination is in your realm. The role is in Detroit, MI. with flexibility for some remote work.
Essential Functions of a Project Manager
§ See the whole picture to strategically plan, manage, develop, implement and oversee projects, deadlines and priorities to ensure timely completion.
§ Budgeting, scheduling and project management skills, with a focus on servicing the client.
§ Architectural coordination of construction & installation of décor
§ Excellent organizational and time management skills
§ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for both internal and external “clients”
§ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
§ Knowledge and understanding of expediting processes
§ Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
§ Proficiency in Innergy or similar ERP as well as general office software and tools.
§ A sense of humor and zest for life is an additional plus and we have a lollipop bucket!
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
§ Self-starter with a solid understanding of job workflow
§ Ability to demonstrate a high-level of organization with time management, communications, decision-making and organizational skills
§ Ability to demonstrate prioritization and problem-solving skills
§ Experiential knowledge of millwork design and architecture.
§ The ability to read and understand architectural drawings
§ Full knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with formulaic use of Excel a plus.
§ A compelling interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
§ Knowledge metal fabrication, LED’s, and installation.
§ Experience in fabrication or manufacturing is a plus such as in the woodworking, millwork, decor or construction industry. With knowledge of décor and millwork manufacturing and fabrication techniques, tools, materials and finishing.
§ Experience in purchasing coordination and logistics management
Site Visits
§ Site visits on local and possible out of state projects during construction
§ Field survey existing space, gather reference photos, critical dimensions, etc.
§ Evaluation of space after installation, including final walkthrough for punch list items, finish photos, etc.
