Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the RWC Director, the Graduate Assistant for Intramurals and Sport Clubs is responsible for the overall administration and implementation of the Intramural and Sport Clubs program. Intramural sports responsibilities include: coordination and development of student officials, selection, scheduling, administration of intramural activities, administering the day to day operations of the intramural program, and the formulation and revision of intramural policies and operating procedures. For Sport Clubs, the GA will oversee scheduling of current active sport clubs with travel and practice needs, risk management training procedures, training of officers/advisors, and allocations of funding. The GA must be able to support and promote the RWC’s and University’s Mission.
This Position Will Meet The Following NACE Competencies
Experience: A minimum of one year experience in recreation or fitness center programming, operations, and supervision is preferred. .
Skills: Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. This individual must be able to work with a diverse population that would include students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders.
Licenses or Certifications: CPR and First Aid
University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
Preferred QualificationsPhysical DemandsMust be able to meet the physical demands associated with a facility and programming. Work is performed in a busy campus setting. Evening and weekend hours are required for activities and events. General work week is Sunday-Thursday to align with intramural programming. This includes supporting initiatives which require representation from members of the Student Development and Engagement Office.

This Position Will Meet The Following NACE Competencies
- Leadership – The GA of Intramurals and Sport Clubs is in charge of hiring, training, and running day to day leagues for the student officials and the student, faculty and staff participating in the leagues. They are the go-to person for questions, conflict de-escalation and any issues regarding intramurals. On top of intramurals, they work with the sport club leadership to guide sport club groups on how to achieve their goals. They run meetings for the e-boards and help advise them on process and procedures from funding to joining leagues and hosting events.
- Technology – They use the platform IM Leagues as the whole system to put on Intramural Sports. They use the system for team registration, addition of players and scheduling. It allows a virtual “fantasy football” like platform for everyone to compete and track progress on. It allows the ability to put in live schedules and standing as well as visual results and stat lines from different games. It allows for registration of one day events and a messaging platform for game reminders, weekly schedules and updates. They will also use WhenToWork to schedule staff and use their preferences/schedules to set the students up for success and provide the needed personnel to run the weekly games.
