Summary:
Under the direction of a manager and licensed health professionals, the Pre-Certification
Specialist processes pre-certification requests in accordance with established corporate guidelines and in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Description:
- Process pre-certification requests per department guidelines
- Determine type of request
- Verify member eligibility by accessing eligibility systems
- Enter all pertinent data in the appropriate computer system
- Adhere to the departmental standards for staff time, attendance and non-queue production
- Adhere to the corporate quality customer-focused professionalism and accuracy standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Working knowledge of health services industry strongly recommended including knowledge of medical terminology and a familiarity with ICD10 and CPT codes
- Able to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, reading comprehension, verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with an ability to accept and respond to changes
- Experience accessing, navigating and data entering into computerized databases
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
