The ELL paraprofessional supervises and monitors students in small group settings and during transitional activities. Position Responsibilities: Performs duties under the direction of the ELL teacher and the general education teachers in the general education settingDevelops and delivers individual and small group learning activitiesSupports instructional tasks with individual and small groups of students in a classroom setting, both in an ELL classroom and a general education classroomSupervises students in various settings and locationsProvides reinforcement for academic skills, specific to language acquisitionAssists in the collection of data on students progressParticipates in professional development and training required by the DistrictPerform other duties as requested or assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills & Ability: Knowledge of ELL students and best practicesAbility to supervisor and monitor students in a variety of settingsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to take initiative to complete required tasksDemonstrate cultural competency General computer and office skillsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentTwo years of verifiable college course work (48 semester hours) OR the ability to successfully pass the WorkKeys proficiency testValid Colorado Driver's LicenseCrisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is required within two months of hire. CPR and First Aid Certification is required within two months of hire.
