Medical asisstant needed for growing Pediatric Gastroenterology Practice

We are seeking a professional, pleasant, and energetic Medical Assistant to join our team!

The right applicant must possess excellent communication and organization skills, eagerness to learn new skills and be a team player. Experience with billing verifications.

Responsibilities would include, but not limited to;

• Interact with patients, physicians and other staff within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
• Coordinate processes and schedule procedures
• Obtain authorization for testing and medications from patient’s insurance company.
• Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other personnel.
• Input Patient/ data into practice Management system. Rotate to the Front Desk as needed. Greets patients and checks them into the system.
• Perform vital signs assessment and medical histories
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Scan records in appropriate sections of patient electronic Medical Record.
• Maintain files and patient records in a confidential manner.
• Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

• answer patient questions
• be able to order medications

Prerequisites

Candidates encouraged to apply have

1. Minimum 2 year experience as a Medical asisstant

2. Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology,

3. Able to cover both front and back office and help receptionist

3. Proficiency in EMR is required

4. Bilingual requirement- Spanish is required.

5. High School diploma or equivalent

6.Willing to undergo background search
