Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
- Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and provide assistance as needed.
- Verify insurance information and process medical billing and coding.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical collections and follow-up on outstanding payments.
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and other medical documentation.
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists.
- Manage inventory of office supplies and order as needed.
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and DRG systems.
- Knowledge of medical billing and collection procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with patients in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
