We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of experience to work independently under the supervision of one physician in clinic setting. (GI Experience or preferred) You will apply medical techniques and principles and deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care in a clinic setting in the field of gastroenterology 5 days per week in a clinic setting.
Responsibilities
Assess patients
Issue appropriate prescriptions
Acquire and review patient histories
Monitor patients’ progress, order labs, diagnostic tests and procedures
Follow up on results and communicate effectively with patients
Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients
Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards
Collaborate effectively with team members
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations. 2. Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care. 3. Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures. 4. Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals. 5. Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan. 6. Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. 7. Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. 8. Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery. 9. Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
Minimum Education:
Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
