We are assisting an AMLAW firm in Boston who is looking for a new Billing Specialist. Assist attorneys with the preparation of bills for clients, ensuring that the client bills are processed timely and in accordance with the client agreement. The Billing Specialist answers billing questions and researches billing related issues, prepares and distributes billing proformas, invoices, and billing related reports. The Billing Specialist acts as the billing advisor to attorneys and the legal secretaries, ensuring that all transactions are recorded according to accounting standards. The Billing Specialist regularly collaborates with other accounting departments, including ebilling, Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Cost Recovery, Pricing, Client Arrangements, Accounts Payable and Revenue Management, to help minimize any financial exposure to the Firm. While they will be assisting partners in the Boston office, they will also assist partners in the New York office as well.

The ideal candidate has previous legal billing experience at a similar-sized firm or smaller law firm, and is comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the firm. The strong preference is to have a candidate with comparable law firm experience and 3E experience. They are looking for a candidate with an understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to Billings and A/R.

Schedule:

• Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm

• Non-exempt, eligible for overtime

• Must be flexible to pick up overtime hours, especially during month/year end or while attempting to hit a deadline. The peak of overtime is typically around month-end close and at year-end close.

• For the first month, they want the candidate to work fully onsite to train. Then hybrid schedule available.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years of related experience

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

• Understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to Billings and A/R

• Excellent math aptitude
